The Chassis Profiles view displays the chassis profiles that exist at the current scope level. A chassis profile defines the physical characteristics of a chassis configuration for a truck, such as a truck with two 40' chassis.

If you receive multi-trailer trucks at your facility that carry three or more TEUs, then you can use chassis profiles to handle these trucks better. Chassis profiles enable N4 to properly sequence all of the gate transactions for the containers on these large trucks. In addition, you can configure business tasks to select and validate the chassis profile for a truck arriving at the gate, route these larger trucks to the correct exchange lane, and reject trucks with specific chassis profiles.

With chassis profiling, N4 supports 11 different container positions on up to three 40' chassis for a truck. For more information, see Supported truck positions (on page 1).

If you only receive trucks with a maximum of two TEUs, then N4 handles these trucks using a default chassis configuration. This eliminates the need to define chassis profiles and collect additional chassis data at the gate.

For multi-trailer chassis configurations, you should define chassis profiles according to the chassis data you collect at the gate. For more information, see Chassis Profile form (on page 1).

You can add new chassis profiles, and edit or delete existing chassis profiles from this view.

In addition, you can use the Actions menu to:

• Recover Obsolete: Recover deleted chassis profiles

• Purge: Purge chassis profiles

• Export SNX File: Export the selected chassis profiles as an XML file using the snx.xsd format.

To add a new record:

To edit or delete a record:

1. In the list view, select the record(s) that you want to edit or delete.

2. Do one of the following:

• Click to edit a selected record.

• Click to delete the selected record(s).
